About Omid Mansouri

Omid Mansouri is a media and experiential educator, child protection trainer and anti-discrimination expert. For more than ten years, he has designed and delivered educational programmes for children, young people and professionals working in education.

As part of his educational work, he has led numerous workshops at schools, universities of teacher education and other institutions across Austria. His work combines professional expertise with practical methods, reflection and active participation.

Educational approach

His educational approach is participatory, inclusive and relationship-oriented. It focuses on learning spaces where young people can contribute their perspectives, recognise and communicate boundaries, and develop social and media-related agency.

Omid Mansouri understands education as more than the transfer of knowledge. Learning becomes sustainable where people experience safety, recognition and the ability to act.

Areas of work

These areas are closely connected and respond to practical challenges faced by schools, educational organisations and young people.

  • Media education and media literacy
Critical and reflective engagement with social media, digital role models, cyberbullying, online communication and young people's digital environments.
  • Child protection and prevention
Strengthening safeguarding structures, awareness of boundaries, participation and an educational culture in which children and young people are heard and taken seriously.
  • Anti-discrimination
Working with prejudice, exclusion, social power relations and discrimination-sensitive approaches to education.
  • Experiential education
Learning through experience, collaboration and reflection, using methods that make social processes visible and directly tangible.
  • Social and emotional skills
Communication, conflict competence, empathy, self-awareness and the development of strong relationships in educational settings.
